In the near future, the film follows Teresa (Brbara Kolen), who returns to Bacurau, a village in central Brazil, to attend her grandmother’s funeral. Arriving there, Teresa immediately saw signs that Bakurau was in critical condition. The main station was depleted, access to mobile phones was reduced, the water supply was cut off and water trucks arrived with bullet holes. It soon became known that the corrupt government had left the village: Bakurau was not only completely removed from the map, but its citizens were also attacked. As a responsible approach, the villagers should arrange regular matches to avoid major damage.
